21 days to form a habit? ...MYTH. 

This course will run for 10 weeks and there is a very good reason for that. The primary goal of this course is not to turn up once a week to get your chill on and just zen out. We're serious about helping you turn meditation into a daily practice. No different to brushing your teeth (here's hoping you at least do that daily). Recent research published in the Journal of European Social Psychology by Phillipa Lally(Link to article), a health psychologist researcher at the University College London, found that it takes just over two months on average to develop a habit. 

66 days to be exact.

The course duration runs for 69 days...aren't you lucky. 

You will be guided and mentored along the way. 

You will receive:

  • A course specific journal, amongst other materials, designed to effectively aid in habit development.

  • 10 x 2hr face-to-face contact time - this is the week to week Sunday session.

  • 2 x 15 minute online video calls - to help you deal with any barriers that you may be struggling to deal with yourself.  

Each Session will consist of:

  • Meditation, building up from 3-5minute bouts interspersed throughout the 2 hour session in week one, progressing to 15-20minute bouts by week 10.  

  • Playing with exercises that stimulate mindfulness, awareness and attention.

  • Interactive discussion, reflection and readings.

When: Weeks 1-3: Sundays 5.30pm -7.30pm.Weeks 4-10 Wednesdays 7-9pm 

Duration: 2 hrs per class.10 week program starting 18th of February. 

Spots available: Only 15 per program. This is to maintain a high level of interaction, attention and contact with each and every person within the program.

By offering health and wellbeing programs, BRAVE is able to generate profits to fund a Social Enterprise based on targeted employment and training of refugees that will assist them to become valued and productive members of our community. Brave provides a safe space for refugees and asylum-seekers. They work with local community groups and government agencies to recruit and train refugees.

Unit 6 / 37 Nicholson Street, Balmain East NSW 2003

Brave is right at the end of Nicholson Street, in Balmain East. There is ample parking on the streets surrounding the studio; however, if driving isn't your thing, Brave is a 5 minute walk from the Balmain East Ferry, and the nearest bus stop is less than 500 meters away on Darling Street.

There are two entrances at the bottom of Nicholson Street. Down our driveway to the right, or through the Zig Zag walk on the left. If all that is too complicated, just look for the bright blue building at the bottom of the street.
